A Short Country Wedding at the Cartlidge Barn in Danville, Indiana

Shelby contacted me to photograph their short and sweet country wedding at The Cartlidge Barn in Danville, Indiana this summer and I was so happy to be a part of their day! Big 10 hour weddings or short 2 hour ceremonies, both are right up my alley :D It wasn’t until the very end, when we were both walking to our cars did I even see that she had the coolest Jeep…and I was like “Hold up. Can we take a couple more photos?” haha

I often don’t meet my couples until the wedding day—it comes with a little anxiety as to what I am about to walk into—so when I walked in and found the boys all playing video games in the basement and was greeted by a cat that rolled over and wanted belly rubs, I knew that I was in the right place. The girls breezed in a few minutes later with Blizzards from Dairy Queen and I knew for sure that I was in the right place, haha.

A Motorcycle and Corgi Wedding at The Barn in Zionsville

I get asked all the time, “Is it okay if we bring our dogs?” or “We were thinking about having our dogs in our wedding…would that be weird?” I just want to assure you that if at any time a dog makes an appearance in or around our time together, I will very likely ignore you for a few minutes so I can pet it and tell them how cute they are. Perhaps for that reason, I tend to attract dog lovers as clients and Laura and Bryce are no exception. Her only request of the day was that we get some photos of the corgis (no problem there) and find a way to incorporate their love of riding in a few photos. Both of which turned out so much better then I could have imagined. Everything is better with dogs!

PS: If you are thinking about incorporating your dogs into your wedding I have a past client that runs a Pet Wedding Coordinator business that can help make sure your doggos are taken care of so you don’t have to worry!

Cara and Matt's Barn Wedding in New Castle, Indiana

Cara and Matt are actually a couple of real estate agents that I work for. They got married in a small ceremony at The Story Inn in Brown County but had a bigger reception back at home for everyone else. I am so glad that I got to be a part of this special reception! Cara outdoes herself with everything she plans and this was no exception. I also got to check out The Barn 38 in New Castle, Indiana for the first time. Its a beautiful venue that I have driven past so many times and never even knew it was there! So if you are looking for a great barn wedding venue in New Castle, check it out!
