One of the first things Dave said to me about Amy was that she was his hero. I’m a nerd, so it was pretty much the cutest thing that I had ever heard and was so excited to get to document their day. It didn’t even matter that a literal hurricane was blowing through and half of their plans got rained out. All that mattered was the outpouring of love and support from their friends and family.

Only Melissa and Ryan, let me tell you. These two have a love for animals. Their fur babies are their whole world so it made absolute, perfect in every way, sense that on their wedding day, their ceremony would be crashed by a cat. Meet Sleepy Creek Vineyard’s mascot, Echo.

Aside from being ecstatic about running into a kitty at this wedding venue in Fairmount, Illinois I was so happy to get to photograph these two again. We met up before for an engagement session and Melissa honestly knows the best places to take me!

The years have gone by for many of my clients and all of a sudden it seems like a lot of them have been starting to have families…which means…newborn photography sessions! Now you all know me, I don’ted do any super complicated baby photos, just lots of cuddling and capturing real life. Luckily we got this little one to sleep to get some good cuddling shots in at the end of the session. I actually like scheduling newborn sessions at a couple of weeks after birth when babies are a bit more awake so we get a full range of all those cute baby faces <3
