Sylvan Cellars is one of my favorite wedding venues in Northern Indiana. When I first photographed a wedding there, I thought “Rome City? Where is that?” and it turns out that being away from the hustle of Fort Wayne was just what the doctor ordered. The Winery Grounds are perfect for a wedding and right across the street there is an old monastery school perfect for unique photo opportunities (and maybe some ghost spotting).

I don’t get to do Cleveland Weddings very often but when I do it’s always so much fun! At this point I think I just attract awesome people to me because I feel like I say this about every single one of my clients, haha. There is just no denying that weddings days are great! Especially when you have friends and family that support you and are down for a good time :)

This family always makes me smile so much. They are always down to play and be silly with their kids and it makes for so many great photos! I hope that one day, when these kids are teenagers, they’ll be able to look back at these photos and see just how fun their childhood was, how much their parents loved them and how much they loved each other <3

Where to Get Married in Fort Wayne Indiana | Wedding Venue Showcase

I photograph a lot of weddings — around 35 a year to be exact — and that means that I see a lot of wedding venues. And let me tell you something, my couples have great taste! Sometimes they find places that I didn’t even know existed!

So, I thought I would make a blog series based on some of those venues so that other people in the wedding planning stages can get the insider info on where to host their biggest party <3

Located just north of Fort Wayne, this venue is a great center point if you have family from the South Bend / Elkhart / Shipshewana area coming in for your big day. If the sweeping country landscape doesn’t make your heart swoon, across the street is an old brick monastery with wrought iron fences and beautiful brick buildings…and if THAT doesn’t catch your eye the line of trees in the orchard certainly will! This place has everything you need to make your party awesome!

Family Photography in Elmhurst Chicago

Before she was a big sister; she made them parents :D

I’ve gotten to go to Chicago a few times this year and each time I am so excited to be in the city and hang out with such wonderful people. I’m usually there for weddings, but this time, a past wedding client of mine reached out for some photos to commemorate the upcoming arrival of their second baby.

The transition from only child to older sister is such an important time for kids—I know because I was that second child. My family has several amusing stories about how my sister reacted to me being born. Including me stealing a candy bar out of her hand and toddling away with it. So, this session had an extra special meaning for me.

I hope these two look back at the calm before the chaos and the wonderful, magical time in their lives with the little girl who made them parents. Its so weird to believe that I first met these two in 2014 to photograph their engagement photos and now they are a family.

For anyone wondering, my included travel fee of 3 hours from Anderson, Indiana gets dangerously close to Chicago so its only a little extra for me to get into the suburbs. This Elmhurst family photography session was beautiful
