Lindsy and Louay Say I Do at Shadowland at Silver Beach in Saint Joseph, Michigan

Lindsy and Louay both graduated Vet school and got married on pretty much the same weekend so you know they were ready for that vacation! Of course, it rained all weekend too, but the sun came out just in time for their ceremony and gave us the perfect light to get some Wedding Photos on Silver Beach.

The day started at an Air BnB a few minutes away from their wedding ceremony at Shadowland at Silver Beach. I love it when couples do this! If you have a big wedding party or family that all wants to stay together, it works out perfect to have a hub where everyone can meet up and be in the same space.

Weddings don’t have to be big and complicated to be the perfect day for you and your partner. I may be a little bias, but I think Lindsy and Louay’s day was perfect!

A Cincinnati Wedding at The Contemporary Art Center

Love is Art

I love me some Art. More specifically, I love weird art…which means contemporary and modern art is always right up my ally! So, when Brittney contacted me and said that they would be holding their wedding at The Contemporary Art Center in Downtown Cincinnati, I was so excited to get to be a part of their wedding day.

Cincinnati is one of my favorite cities to photograph weddings in and this wedding venue was right up there on one of my favorites as well. It was so cool to get to be creative within my Documentary Style and still use the art in the museum in our portraits.

Courtney Josh and Sylvie's Family Photography Session in Anderson, Indiana

I was so happy when Courtney contacted me about doing a in-home family photos. These sessions are my favorite because it shows families in their everyday environment and many many years down the road you’ll be able to look back at your photos and remember so much more than just a few posed shots. You’ll get to remember the laughter and silliness, lessons and trails, and that short moment in time where your kid was so small.

I go into every in-home photography session without a plan. I know—I know. That probably sounds terrifying but after doing it for more than five years, it usually only takes a couple of seconds to look around and say “Oh! That will be great!” Back when we used to be able to go places (you remember those days right?) I did it there too. I’m always looking for good light even when I’m not working!

I think the shots at the piano are my favorites from this session. These kinds of sessions are always one of a kind. Every family has different tastes and hobbies to incorporate to make their family photos unique and special.

A Fort Wayne Wedding at Orchard Ridge Golf Club

I got to meet up with this family two times in one year! The first was for her brother’s wedding and now it’s her turn to tie the knot.

This family was so wonderful to work with. Mom was the go to wedding planner and while some of you may be thinking “oh no, I would NEVER let my mother be in charge of my wedding” it actually was great! Tomi made sure things got done and stayed on task while Jennifer and Andy were free to actually enjoy their day.

And it was a great day! Everything looked absolutely beautiful. All the guests had fun. And Jen and Andy got to have a wedding day that they will always look back fondly on. I am so glad that I got to be a part of this day and document all of the details so that they can remember it forever

A Farmhouse Wedding at The Buckeye Barn in Piqua, Ohio

Anna and Travis’ wedding at The Buckeye Barn in Piqua, Ohio was one of my all time favorites. I love some laid-back farm wedding venues and this one was beautifully renovated and perfect for photos. It is so nice when venues have photography in mind and have nice bright rooms with neutral colors….and a special place for family photos with nice open shade! Yes! When these things are considered it makes my job a billion times easier and I get to focus on catching all of those laughs and smiles.

Anna really went above and beyond on her wedding day. She was such a kind and considerate bride. She gave gifts to all of her wedding party, the flower girls and even her parents. Weddings can be a stressful day for a lot of people but not Anna.

Oh…and have you seen her hair? It’s totally Disney Tangled inspired and I just wanted to photograph it all day, haha. All of the wedding vendors were swooning over it all day so I don’t feel completely like a weirdo—or at least I fit in with all the other weirdos :P
