Do it for yourself

A whole lot of my clients book in home boudoir photography sessions for anniversary gifts or wedding gifts or birthday gifts for their significant others. And, yes, that’s great, but also know that it is okay to book a boudoir photo shoot for just yourself. You don’t have to show them to anyone. They are all yours.

I recently had a boudoir photo session done myself by a friend down in southern Indiana just so I could get some current photos of myself. I’m a plus size gal who is pretty big into privacy so I haven’t shown them to anyone (even my hubby, although he knows I got them done). And that is okay. I feel like its important to see yourself in photos. Sometimes that is hard. Sometimes it takes a little while to really fall in love them with. That’s okay.

Society tells us so often that what we see in the mirror isn’t what is “beautiful.” Well that is bullshit. I’m working to help people see that their true selves…without beauty filters and weight loss…is just fine. Its more than fine. Its awesome.

Did you know that your in home boudoir photography session doesn’t have to be inside your house at all??? I took Brittany out amungst the flowers this spring to snap some photos and it was so much fun…even though my ladder kept sinking into the mud (guys, do you know of any remedy’s for being too dang short?)

Love yourself

In Home Boudoir Photography has always been one of my favorite things to shoot. You never know the light of a place until you walk in….which in weddings and portrait sessions happens all the time, but with boudoir photography, I get to pose people and shape them to that light and see magic unfold.

There is something awesome about shooting in your own space. All of your backgrounds are places that you see everyday so you can truly see yourself the way your significant other sees you.

Be ready for me to tell you in hallways instead of more traditional locations. I go for cool light wherever it may shine!

Beauty is a flower that grows inside all of us

What a whirlwind of a summer I’ve had this year! Busy, busy with wedding and portrait sessions and dealing with a loss in our family. Consequently, this lead to my brother in law needed to move in with us. Which means, that until the foreseeable future, my studio will be out of commission. But no fear! I’ve decided to hit the road and offer In Home sessions!

Boudoir Photography has always been so much fun to me. It really is a stress relief after the hustle and bustle of photographing weddings every weekend so I wasn’t about to give it up completely. Right now my prices will remain the same as my portrait prices. You’ll still be able to get a 30 min / 15 image session for only $150 which has always been important to me. I believe that boudoir photography should be about you and not the production.
