I love my (not so little) little town. Always have. I grew up here and I don’t really want to leave if I can’t help it—crossing my fingers that remote work sticks around for the long haul. One of my favorite things about Anderson is the trail system we have here. If you’ve ever had a family photography session with me, you know that I like to go for a walk and just take pictures as we go. I do this for a plethora of reasons: one being, it breaks up the monotony of a session so we can get kids in a good mood for longer and two, it helps to have a journey to focus on in between photos so there is less anxious energy for both adults and kids. ALSO, it means you get lots of different backgrounds during your shoot. We may even find something unexpected.
Like a lake.
This spot is one of my favorites to take people and it doesn’t get used by photographers very often so you don’t typically have to worry about a bunch of other people to be in the background of your photo :P That is one of the many perks to hiring a local photographer for family photos. We know all the best kept secret locations <3
