My camera is always ready so I can catch silly moments like these without interrupting the flow of the moment by say “Do that again!”
The girls prayed over Julia and her marriage during the bridesmaids photos and I thought that was such a beautiful way to show how these ladies support each other.
Kaitlyn requested a few traditional portraits in the church before we headed out to the park for the wedding party and family photos and I was happy to make that happen
I spend a lot of time here talking about authentic moments and candid photos but I know that weddings are still one of the only times your whole entire family is going to be together so we absolutely still get those formal photos. One good thing about having 15 years of experience is that I am pretty fast at these and you won’t have to stand still and smile for very long. We can usually knock them all out within 30 mins :D
Not always in that order.
The “good” photo often comes at the very beginning of the “pose” or at the very end after the silly has paused. That’s why I have a quick button pressing finger. Doing a few of these during your session gives us a pretty good chance of getting at least one “good” photo of your kiddo…even if all the rest of them are of them being wild and having fun :P
Also, notice when I ask her to be silly that she looks back at mom to make sure its okay. This happens a lot. The more the parents play it up and do it along with them, the better the outcome. Remember, I’m a stranger. They trust their parents. They’re not about to let me get them in trouble, haha
